Well that was random...

Okay, so there is a chain of Irish bars in Tokyo and today they had a deal on pints, so an American friend of mine and I decided to check out one of the locations. Pints of Guinness and Kilkenny for a mere $5.50 (regular price $11). Pretty typical Irish bar, the usual decor, so on and so forth. We ordered some food and it took quite awhile so they gave us a free pint each, pretty sweet. For those of you keeping track, we have an American and a Canadian in an Irish bar in Tokyo. All of a sudden, a group of Japanese people come in with some drums and start banging out a beat. Okay. Weird. THEN a group of Japanese women in Carnival-style costumes (click here for a sexy example) show up and start shaking their stuff to the beat! WHAT?! One of the women had quite the tail feathers going on, and just as my buddy was taking a sip from his pint, she did a turn and he got a face full of feathers. It was pretty epic. Oh yah, and the lights were being turned on and off to the beat. And there was some sort of lion mascot there too. He tapped me on the shoulder and gave me the thumbs up. So, an American and a Canadian at an Irish bar in Tokyo with Japanese people performing Brazilian-style Carnival stuff and a lion mascot. Random.

I learned three things today. The first was an equation:
Japanese women + Carnival costumes = Paul thanking the Lord.
The second is that Japan makes no sense.
The third is that seeing an American take a face full of feathers attached to a three-quarters naked Japanese girl as he takes a sip of Guinness is fucking hilarious.
